Terms of Service

1. Provider, scope, contract

Provider: Christopher Seidemann (sole proprietorship), Dietmannsried (see Legal Notice). These terms apply worldwide to use by consumers. By registering you enter a free-of-charge usage agreement.

2. The service

GETMATE is a friendship app — not dating. An automated algorithm suggests up to 5 potential matches. We owe provision of the platform, not success — no entitlement to a particular match, number or quality.

3. Access & account

  • Minimum age 18 — by using the service you confirm you are of legal age.
  • One account per person; information must be accurate.
  • Keep your credentials safe.

4. Your content

Your content (free text, values, hobbies, messages, images, voice) remains yours. You grant us only a non-exclusive licence, limited to the contract term and to operating the service, non-commercial — solely to provide the service.

  • We do NOT use your content to train AI.
  • Chat images are auto-deleted after 48h.
  • Free text & values are never shown to others.
  • You warrant you hold the necessary rights.

5. Conduct rules

Prohibited: harassment, hate, discrimination, threats, sexual harassment; unlawful/youth-endangering/insulting content; spam, fraud, phishing; impersonation; scraping; commercial use; circumventing safety/reporting features; content involving/about minors.

6. Safety & personal responsibility

We do not run identity or background checks. You meet others at your own risk. The "Verified Human" badge confirms only a liveness check (a real person spoke words) — NOT identity, age or safety.

7. Reporting, blocking, moderation

You can report content/people and block matches. For legal/rule violations we remove content and take measures up to suspension; we inform of material measures (cf. DSA). Reports: support@getmate.app.

8. Dissolving, suspension, termination

  • Dissolve a match: it disappears for both; re-matching only after a cooldown. Blocking is permanent.
  • Delete your account anytime in the app.
  • We may warn, restrict, suspend or delete for violations.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not owe uninterrupted or error-free availability.

10. Fees & subscription

Creating an account is free. Access to GETMATE is a paid subscription (monthly or yearly); the applicable price incl. taxes is shown before purchase. In the iOS and Android apps, purchases run exclusively through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play; on the web through Stripe.

  • Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each term at the then-current price until you cancel.
  • Cancel anytime — on iOS/Android in the store’s subscription settings, on the web via your account/Stripe; effective at the end of the current period.
  • Withdrawal (EU/EEA): 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content. By purchasing you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that the withdrawal right expires upon full performance.
  • Orders are placed as an "order with obligation to pay".
  • We may grant individual users complimentary access (e.g. via invite codes). Such access is never sold, expires automatically and does not renew.

11. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent/gross negligence, harm to life/body/health, guarantees, and under mandatory law (e.g. product liability). For simple negligence, only for breach of material contractual duties, limited to typical foreseeable damage. In particular we are not liable for other users’ conduct/content or consequences of meetings. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

12. Intellectual property

GETMATE’s brand, logo, software, design and content are protected. You receive a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable right of use.

13. Changes

We may amend these terms and will notify material changes in good time (app/email). Otherwise you may terminate the contract.

14. Law, jurisdiction, disputes

German law applies (excluding the UN CISG). Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected; no deviating venue is imposed on consumers. We are not obliged/willing to participate in consumer arbitration (§36 VSBG).
